Diesel Care – Dirty tricks

Take a closer look at your dirty laundry. A significant part of the impact of your denim happens when you wash, dry, iron, repair or, more to the point, don’t repair.

But here’s the good news: as a rule, what has a lower impact on your jeans also tends to have a lower impact on the planet.

We’ve curated our top tips for keeping your blues blue and the planet cool.

STAY DIRTY

Wash your denim as little as possible, aim for every 10 wears or longer and, in between, a day in the freezer will freshen things up.

STAY GENTLE

Never wash above 30 degrees and always inside out on a short or delicate cycle, while using a mild detergent and avoiding fabric softener as it degrades denim fibres.

STAY NATURAL

Avoid harsh chemicals stain removers. Soak in cold water, spot clean with vinegar, dish soap or surgical spirit for stubborn marks. For more stain tips see our guide here.

STAY OPEN

Never tumble dry. Instead, dry your jeans flat and in the shade to keep your blues blue and your colours true. Here’s your bonus: you won’t need to iron.

STAY CREATIVE

Remember repairing is caring. Take your denim to a local tailor, dust off your sewing skills or iron on some patches to keep your denim alive and kicking.

STAY GENEROUS

Once it’s time to say goodbye to your Diesel Jeans, sell them, donate them or pass them on. Every pair deserves a second chance.
